​On Thursday, Apil 27, Petteri Orpo (National Coalition Party Parliamentary Group) said that the Finns Party, the Christian Democrats and the Swedish People's Party will participate in the government formation talks. Orpo has lead the preliminary discussions on the formation of a new government and will also lead the actual government formation talks.

According to Orpo, in the preliminary discussions, the parties have sought a common view on how to solve the challenges facing Finland. With the consensus reached in the discussions, Orpo considered finding solutions in government formation talks​ possible.

In the government formation talks, discussions will be held to determine the Government Programme, the number of ministers, their division of responsibilities and the allocation of portfolios. Watch a video on how Finland forms a new government.
