The president of Ukraine will speak to MPs remotely on Friday

​Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the MPs via video link in the Plenary Hall on Friday, April 8. The event will begin at 1 p.m. and its estimated duration is 15 minutes. This is not a plenary session of Parliament, but a separate event in the Plenary Hall. 

President Sauli Niinistö and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier will follow the video speech by President Zelensky in Parliament.​​ Ambassadors from several EU countries, among others, will also attend the event.

Speaker of Parliament will give a short welcoming address which will be followed by a speech by President Zelensky. The event is in English.

The event can be watched online, and Yle will broadcast the event live on television and in Yle Areena.

The event is for invited guests only and the public gallery is not open for public. The plenary session of Parliament will begin on Friday at 2 p.m.
