COSAC, the conference of the committees of Member State parliaments dealing with EU affairs, as well as of representatives of the European Parliament, will be held at the Marina Congress Center in Helsinki between 1 and 3 December.
The conference sessions will deal with topics such as the Finnish EU Presidency, the relation between the Rule of Law and fundamental rights, and the EU climate strategy. Among the speakers are Antti Rinne, Prime Minister of Finland (Finnish EU Presidency), Finnish Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen and Michael O’Flaherty, Director of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (rule of law, fundamental rights), and Mari Pantsar, Director of the Carbon-Neutral Circular Economy theme at the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra (climate strategy).
Other speakers include Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission, and Michel Barnier, Head of Task Force for Relations with the United Kingdom.
COSAC will be opened by Matti Vanhanen, Speaker of the Eduskunta, and the presided by Satu Hassi, Chair of the Grand Committee of the Eduskunta.
